Embedded in the vast, sunny Salzach valley and the amazing mountain views of the "Hohe Tauern National Park" at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier (3203 m) are the two 18-hole golf courses the biggest and probably the most beautiful golf facility in the Austrian Alps - GOLFCLUB ZELL AM SEE - KAPRUN - SAALBACH - HINTERGLEMM. Golfclub has been awarded Golfrevue Award "Golfclub of the year 2011". Both golf courses are situated beside each other and form a flat, park-like terrain that is surrounded by biotopes and several lakes. The first 18-holes of the golf course as well as the extension on 27 holes has been designed by British golf architect Donald Harradine. Since 1993 has the golf course 36 holes and became the member of "Leading Golf Courses Austria" in 1988. International professional players such as Norman, Langer, Ballesteros, Daly and many others have been delighted by the carefully tended and well maintained golf courses. Golf school of PGA Head -Pro David Shaw offers plenty of opportunities for both beginners and experts, to learn the game or improve their handicap.
